01How does the ranking work?

Every spot on TBWE is nominated by a local. Readers upvote the spots they vouch for. The leaderboard is ordered by upvotes, recalculated hourly. No pay-to-play. No sponsored placements.

02Who can submit a place?

Anyone. You don't need an account. Just hit Submit a Spot and tell us where, what, and why.

03Can I vote more than once?

One upvote per person per spot. We rate-limit by device and IP, and the ranking algorithm de-weights suspicious voting patterns.

04I own a business on TBWE. How do I take over the page?

Head to Claim your listing. We verify ownership via a business-domain email or a mailed postcard code. Once verified you can respond to reviews, update hours and photos, and flag inaccurate info.

05Can I pay to rank higher?

No. The rank is decided by readers. If you want to show up higher, get people to vouch for you, which usually means doing what you already do, but louder.

06Is TBWE only for New Jersey?

Issue 01 is New Jersey. We'll expand city by city based on where the ranking has the most traction.

07How do I request a category that isn't listed?

Make a request. We review new categories weekly and add the ones that have enough nominations behind them.
